Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Institut Pesantren Mathali'ul Falah (IPMAFA) Pati since 2012. Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman was first published based on Decree no. 0005.064/JI.3.2/SK.ISSN/2012 (starting February 16, 2012 edition) with print ISSN number: 2089-8142. Islamic Review has always consistently published journals twice a year in printed form until 2015.

In 2016 there was a change in journal management which then developed a journal not only in print but also based on the Open Journal System (OJS). This is done to increase the readability of journal articles because they can be accessed openly (open access) and free of charge. Finally in mid-2018, Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman received an online ISSN number. 2654-4997 according to Decree No. 0005.26544997/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2018 (starting edition Vol. 8, No. 1, February 2019).

On September 26, 2019 based on the Decree of the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 28 / E / KPT / 2019 the accreditation rating of scientific journals for period V in 2019 determined Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman as an Accredited Scientific Journal Rank 5 (sinta 5).

Furthermore, the editorial team continues to improve the quality of the journal so that in 2022 it can increase the accreditation rating to Sinta 3 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 225/E/KPT/2022. Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman has also been indexed in Copernicus, DOAJ, Dimensions, Moraref, Google Scholar, Garuda, One Search, and already has a DOI on each article stored in Crossref.

Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Institut Pesantren Mathali’ul Falah (IPMAFA) Pati sejak tahun 2012. Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman pertama kali terbit berdasarkan SK no. 0005.064/JI.3.2/SK.ISSN/2012 (mulai edisi 16 Februari 2012) dengan nomor ISSN cetak: 2089-8142. Islamic Review selalu konsistensi menerbitkan jurnal 2 kali setahun dalam bentuk cetak sampai tahun 2015.

Pada tahun 2016 terjadi perubahan pengelola jurnal yang kemudian mengembangkan jurnal tidak hanya cetak tetapi juga berbasis Open Journal System (OJS). Hal ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterbacaan artikel jurnal karena dapat diakses secara terbuka (open acces) dan gratis. Akhirnya pada pertengahan tahun 2018, Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman mendapatkan  ISSN online dengan nomor. 2654-4997 sesuai SK No. 0005.26544997/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2018 (mulai edisi Vol. 8, No. 1, Februari 2019).

Pada tanggal 26 September 2019 berdasarkan Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Ristekdikti RI Nomor 28/E/KPT/2019 peringkat akreditasi jurnal ilmiah periode V tahun 2019 menetapkan Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman sebagai Jurnal Ilmiah Terakreditasi Peringkat 5 (sinta 5).

Selanjutnya tim editorial terus meningkatkan kualitas jurnal sehingga pada tahun 2022 dapat menaikkan peringkat akreditasi menjadi Sinta 3 berdasarkan Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset, dan teknologi, Kementerian Dikbudristekdikti RI Nomor 225/E/KPT/2022. Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman juga sudah terindeks pada Copernicus, DOAJ, Dimensions, Moraref, Google Scholar, Garuda, One Search, dan sudah memiliki DOI pada tiap artikel yang tersimpan pada Crossref.
