Editorial Policies

Aims and Scope

The journal’s primary focus areas include (but are not limited to):

  • Islamic Thought, Society, and Cultural Heritage: Critical analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic philosophy, Sufism, Islamic psychology, the sociology of Muslim societies, and the cultural heritage of Islam, including its intersection with digitalization and media studies.
  • Islamic Law and Governance (Fiqh & Siyasah): Studies on Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) regarding human rights, public policy, minority rights, inter-faith relations, and contemporary issues of statecraft and governance in Muslim-majority and minority contexts.
  • Islamic Economics, Finance, and Sustainability: Research exploring Islamic social finance (Zakat, Waqf), halal industry management, economic inequality, and the role of Islamic ethics in environmental sustainability and climate action.
  • Local Wisdom and Pesantren Studies: Scholarly works focusing on the role and transformation of Islamic traditional education (Pesantren), local wisdom (KearifanLokal) in Indonesia, and the contribution of Islamic institutions to community development and peacebuilding.

Peer Review Process

The review process in the Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman uses double-blind peer review. The process of review is conducted transparently and fairly regardless of ethnicity, gender, ethnicity, religion, or group. The submitted article is received by the editorial team for an assessment related to conformity with the journal template and then sent to the reviewer according to competence. The reviewer gives the manuscript that has been reviewed to the editorial team to be returned to the author if there is a revision. The writer revised the notes according to the reviewer and then sent it back to the editorial team.

All research articles published full peer review, the key characteristics of which are listed below:

  • All research articles are reviewed by at least two suitably qualified experts.
  • All publication decisions are made by the journal's Editors-in-Chief on the basis of the reviews provided
  • Members of the international Editorial Boards lend insight, advice, and guidance to the Editors-in-Chief generally and assist decision making on specific submissions
  • Managing Editors and  Editorial Assistants provide the administrative support that allows maintaining the integrity of peer review while delivering rapid turnaround and maximum efficiency to authors, reviewers, and editors alike.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal is an open-access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or institutions.


Offprint

Authors will receive the PDF file (with no cover) of their article for free as soon as it is posted for online publication.


Commitment Anti Plagiarism

All texts sent will be examined with anti-plagiarism software and unique detection as a commitment against plagiarism in the academic world. Editorial team Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman recognizes that plagiarism is not acceptable. Therefore uses Turnitin's originality checking software as the tool in detecting similarities of texts in article manuscripts and the final version articles ready for publication. A maximum of 20% of similarities is allowed for the submitted papers. Should we find more than 20% of the similarity index, the article will be returned to the author for correction and re-submission.
