Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Membaca Nyaring di Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) Delima Bantul Yogyakarta
Abstract
This qualitative case study examines readaloud activities at TBM Delima, a community reading center in Bantul, Yogyakarta, as a form of literacy-based community empowerment. Drawing on the manuscript’s account of observation, interviews, and program documentation collected between March and October 2025, the study explores implementation, volunteer involvement, and participants’ experiences. Findings suggest that reading aloud serves not only as a literacy activity for children but also as a shared learning space for caregivers, volunteers, and other residents. Women’s involvement is particularly important in connecting family literacy practices with collective community participation. The program is discussed through the lenses of empowerment and social capital. Reported percentage indicators are retained as program-level descriptions; without clear denominators or baseline measures, they cannot be interpreted as causal estimates of impact contributes an explanation of how read-aloud facilitation may strengthen social interaction and learning opportunities in non-formal education. Long-term continuity will depend on sustained volunteer support, accessible reading materials, and routine evaluation.
