This study aims to explore the strategies implemented by Pesantren of Fathimah Al-Amin Progressive to improve the quality of its santri through Sufi Healing extracurricular. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with caregivers, coaches, coordinators, and santri and participant observation in Sufi Healing extracurricular activities. The results showed that Pesantren of Fathimah Al-Amin Progressive has succeeded in improving the quality of its santri through Sufi Healing extracurricular. This success is characterized by the ability of santri to overcome problems faced by themselves and others. The strategies to achieve this success include motivating santri about future opportunities, teaching practical values from Sufi Healing learning, and increasing practice rather than theory in their education. This research contributes to understanding practical pedagogical approaches within pesantren, particularly demonstrating how spiritual-based extracurricular activities can foster practical problem-solving skills and enhance santri well-being.
Nisrin Mu'azzaz M. This model combines the formal school curantriculum with a pesantren system based on Qur’anic memorization (tahfidh). However, in practice, various challenges arise concerning regulations, violations, and the forms of punishment applied to santri (student). These regulations serve to maintain santri discipline, academic policies, and character development. Despite well-established regulations, violations frequently occur among millennial santri, both in academic contexts and pesantren discipline. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The findings indicate that regulations within this integrated model cover academic discipline, pesantren ethics, and Qur’an memorization obligations. Common violations include negligence in memorization targets, improper use of technology, and absenteeism from pesantren activities. The forms of punishment applied range from verbal warnings and social sanctions to special guidance for improving discipline. These findings provide insights for educational institutions in formulating more effective policies to nurture millennial santri to excel in both formal education and Qur’anic memorization.
Ahmad Zaenurrosyid Hidayatus Sholihah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-25 2025-06-25 6 1 15 42 10.35878/santri.v6i1.1585 Fiqih Indigenous Indonesia dan Relevansinya dalam Pendidikan Pesantren: Pendekatan Fiqih Aplikatif dalam Kitab Fashalatan K.H.R. Asnawi Kudus https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/santri/article/view/1657
This study aims to examine the applicative approach in the Fashalatan book by K.H.R. Asnawi Kudus as well as its relevance and contribution to Islamic education in Indonesia, focusing on four main aspects: the position of Fashalatan as a work of Nusantara scholars, its role as an indigenous fiqh book rooted in local tradition, the concept of applicative worship fiqh in its presentation, and its contribution to education in pesantren and traditional communities. The method used is qualitative research with literature review and content analysis techniques, sourcing from the original Fashalatan text, classical fiqh literature, and scholarly works related to traditional Islamic education. The results show that Fashalatan successfully simplifies Shafi’i fiqh into a worship guide that is easy to understand and practice by using local language and Arabic Pegon script, facilitating access for the general Muslim community. The book not only strengthens the preservation of Nusantara Islamic traditions by harmonizing Islamic law and local culture but also serves as an effective and relevant medium for applicative fiqh education in pesantren and the wider society, thereby supporting the continuity of scholarly traditions and contextual worship practices in Indonesia.
Achmad Zuhri Aulia Nisa Hanifa ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-25 2025-06-25 6 1 43 58 10.35878/santri.v6i1.1657 Pesantren dan Pergeseran Paradigma Epistemologi: Dari Humanisme Menuju Era Post-Humanisme https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/santri/article/view/1684
This study explores the paradigm shift from humanism to post-humanism within the landscape of contemporary knowledge and its implications for the epistemology of pesantren education. Humanism, which places humans at the center of all things, has come under intense critique in the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence, giving rise to post-humanist perspectives that emphasize decentralized agency and the interconnectedness of humans, machines, and the environment. Pesantren, as traditional Islamic educational institutions, is grounded in a distinctive epistemology that integrates revelation, reason, and spiritual experience. This qualitative research employs a literature review and discourse analysis method to examine the epistemological constructions of humanism, post-humanism, and pesantren. The findings indicate that pesantren can occupy a synthetic position between these two contrasting paradigms—retaining their spiritual heritage and scholarly authority through sanad—while simultaneously transforming into educational institutions that are both relevant and adaptive in the post-humanist era. This critical approach positions pesantren as epistemic entities capable of fostering a creative dialogue between tradition and modernity, inspiring new ways of thinking and learning that bridge the gap between transcendental values and the realities of the digital age.
Ahmad Muzakkil Anam Danang Ade Agustinova Noor Alwiyah Nashrul Haqqi Firmansyah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-25 2025-06-25 6 1 59 80 10.35878/santri.v6i1.1684 Pesantren Graduates and Social Mobility in the Global Era: Roles and Challenges https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/santri/article/view/1694
This study aims to explore the integration of pesantren graduates into society and the labor market based on key indicators that determine successful integration. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through purposive sampling involving participants who had completed their education at the Madrasah Aliyah level (Senior High School) within pesantren institutions. Data validity was ensured through the triangulation of theories and sources, while data analysis involved the stages of data collection, reduction, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that pesantren graduates demonstrate in-depth religious knowledge, strong discipline, collaborative skills, and economic independence comparable to the general population. Importantly, their consistent exposure to structured and disciplined environments not only enables them to compete effectively in the job market but also to adapt to technological advancements, reassuring their potential in the ever-evolving job market.
Irma Nur Af’idah Nia Lailin Nisfa ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-27 2025-06-27 6 1 81 94 10.35878/santri.v6i1.1694 Analisis Kenaikan Pajak dalam Kerangka Keadilan, Kemaslahatan, dan Fiqh Sosial https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/santri/article/view/1720
The Pati Regent Regulation Number 8 of 2025 provides legality for a 100% tax increase. However, the Regent increased the land and building tax (PBB-P2) to 250%. This increase aims to boost Regional Original Income, supporting infrastructure development programs and public services. This increase is intended to adjust the PBB-P2 rate after 14 years of no change. This increase in the PBB-P2 tax has caused pros and cons in society. In general, the community is burdened by this tax increase. This paper examines in depth whether this increase in PPB P2 tax is relevant. The research method employed is a robust descriptive-analytical approach, ensuring a comprehensive analysis. The theoretical framework used is justice, maslahah, and fiqh sosial, providing a solid foundation for the study. The analysis method employs critical discourse to examine the power that underpins the ideology of the dominant group, legitimizing its dominance. The results of this study indicate that the increase in PBB-P2 tax up to 250% is contrary to the values of justice, maslahah, and fiqh sosial, which lead to maqashidus shariah, namely protecting religion, soul, mind, property, and descendants. Justice demands that a leader prioritize honesty, solidarity, and compassion. The maslahah demands a leader who sides with the most vulnerable members of society. Meanwhile, fiqh sosial encourages the achievement of maqashidus sharia. The increase in the PBB-P2 tax suggests that a leader lacks honesty, compassion, and solidarity in acknowledging the suffering of their people.
Jamal Ma'mur Asmani ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-29 2025-06-29 6 1 95 112 10.35878/santri.v6i1.1720 Pesantren-Based Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: Contribution of Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/santri/article/view/1691
This study aims to examine the role of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) Al-Arsyadi in promoting the development of entrepreneurship within the Al-Arsyadi Pesantren environment in Samboja, East Kalimantan. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that included in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The study’s results identified three main contributions of BMT in supporting the Pesantren entrepreneurship ecosystem. First, as a provider of business capital, BMT offers access to Sharia financing that supports the sustainable development of pesantren business units. Second, as an integrated financial manager, BMT builds a transparent and accountable financial management system for pesantren. Third, BMT serves as a center for training santri (student) in entrepreneurship, offering practical and applicable Islamic value-based training programs. These findings indicate that BMT is not only a financial institution but also an agent of community-based Pesantren economic transformation. This study recommends strengthening the institutional capacity of BMT, integrating entrepreneurship curriculum into pesantren education, and replicating the model to other pesantren. This study contributes to broadening the understanding of community-based Islamic economics and the role of local institutions in building the economic independence of the community.
Sofiyyah Mahmudah Muh Shadiqul Fajri AF Rezvanny Maricar ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 6 1 113 128 10.35878/santri.v6i1.1691
