Over time, these interactions gave rise to various stereotypes, especially about Islam, including within the narratives of Hollywood’s film industry. Using a qualitative research method with a critical discourse analysis approach, combined with the theory of social construction, this study seeks to explore how stereotypes of Islam have been narrated through Hollywood films from the 1960s to the 2020s. The findings of this study conclude that the representation of muslims in the Western film industry is often portrayed with a biased image, associating Islam with terrorism, violence, and fanaticism. These stereotypes emerge as a result of the long history of tensions between the Western world and the Islamic world, reinforced by political interests and media influence in shaping public opinion. The seven film samples—each from different decades—presented in this study illustrate how muslim characters are depicted as threats, ultimately reinforcing negative prejudices against Islam in global society for nearly the past century.
Fajriatul Mustakharoh, Mustain Mustain, Ahmad Hidayatullah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/muashir/article/view/1619 Sat, 31 May 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Analisis Framing Pemberitaan Pada Isu Pemecatan Karyawan CNN Indonesia di Tempo.com. The results of the study show that Tempo.co framed the news of the issue of the dismissal of CNN Indonesia employees as a result of the termination of employment by CNN Indonesia management due to the formation of a labor union, namely the CNN Indonesia Workers Union or SPCI. Tempo journalists saw that the actions taken by CNN Indonesia management were not by the 1945 Constitution and Law Number 21 of 2000 concerning Labor Unions. Many parties regretted the termination of the employment of CNN Indonesia employees because it was not by the freedom of expression guaranteed by law.
Mochammad Nasrullah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/muashir/article/view/1556 Sat, 31 May 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Pesan Moral Film Kinari Folklore Desa Tempur. The popularity of this podcast among young people serves as an important background to understand how the messages delivered influence listeners, particularly in the context of religiosity and the psychological aspects of Muslim adolescents. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), observation, and documentation. Informants were selected based on specific criteria, namely Muslim adolescents in Salatiga who actively listen to the “Rintik Sedu” podcast. The findings reveal that youth perceptions of Tsana’s storytelling style are formed through three stages of perception: sensation, attention, and interpretation. In this process, some adolescents perceive her storytelling as highly relatable, portraying the impression of a close friend, and providing motivation in navigating teenage life. However, others view her narrative style as overly melancholic, potentially influencing the listener’s mood to become more sorrowful and emotionally immersed. These findings indicate that the narrative style in audio media such as podcasts holds significant emotional power and can shape the perception and emotional state of its listeners, particularly among Muslim youth.
Ainni Ikma Nur Fatimah, Fahrudin Yusuf ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/muashir/article/view/1521 Sat, 31 May 2025 13:24:37 +0700 Konten Seni Lukis dalam TikTok sebagai Ekspresi Budaya Populer Remaja Urban https://journal.ipmafa.ac.id/index.php/muashir/article/view/1420
Technological advances make it a human need to express themselves and form self-actualization through TikTok social media, such as sharing painting content in the era of modernization.
