Abstract

The philosophy of Perennialism is an approach in the philosophy of education that considers that the values of truth, goodness, and beauty are eternal and universal, so they must be part of education to form a complete and cultured human being. The Merdeka Curriculum was formulated as the government's response in facing the education crisis that occurred in Indonesia. This research is classified as a qualitative research model for literature and aims to analyze the philosophical principles implemented in the development of an Independent Curriculum for Arabic subjects at the madrasah aliyah level. Analysis of the relevance of Perennialism Philosophy to the development of the Independent Curriculum in Arabic subjects at the madrasah aliyah level, is an in-depth analysis of the concept of Perennialism Philosophy as the basis of educational thinking in the development of an independent curriculum for Arabic subjects at the madrasah aliyah level. The orientation of the study of the implementation of Perennialism Philosophy in the development of the Independent Curriculum includes: Educational Objectives, Content / Material, and Learning Methods. The results of this study show that: First, the implementation of Arabic language learning in the independent curriculum aims to form people who have a moderate religious attitude and spirituality according to Islamic religious teachings. The content standards are prepared based on language competence, communication competence, and cultural competence. The learning methods that are emphasized are questions and answers and discussions. Second, the implementation of secular perennial principles in the development of the Arabic curriculum.
